Best Garlic Aioli Recipe - How to Make Garlic Aioli image

Wondering how to make garlic aioli from scratch? It's not hard at all! If you have egg yolks, garlic, lemon juice and olive oil, then you're on your way!

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 large pasteurized egg yolks
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
2 tbsp. lemon juice
3/4 tsp. kosher salt
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1/2 c. olive oil

Steps:

  • Using a large whisk, combine the egg yolks, garlic, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, 1 teaspoon water, salt and black pepper in a medium bowl.
  • Roll up a kitchen towel and wrap it around the base of the bowl to stabilize it. While whisking constantly, add a few drops of vegetable oil to the egg mixture. Continue adding drops and whisking until the mixture starts to thicken. If the mixture looks well combined, begin to add the vegetable oil in a thin stream, always whisking. Continue with the olive oil. Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate for up to 4 days.

Great recipe loaded with flavour. I made this on my Griddler and it turned out amazing! This recipe works for cod, monkfish. scallops,etc.your choice.Also perfect for sole.

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 lbs tilapia fillets
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon tsps cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon tsps Old Bay Seasoning
1 cup mayonnaise
6 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
3/4 teaspoon dried tarragon

Steps:

  • Preheat grill.
  • Spread oil on both sides of filets.
  • Sprinkle with seasoning.
  • Place on hot grill and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes over a medium high heat. Turn once during grilling.
  • Serve with Aioli.
  • Prepare aioli by combining all ingredients in a bowl, mixing and then refrigerate until you are ready for use.
  • I served it with boiled new potatoes and green beans to dip in the Aioli.
  • I use Low fat mayonnaise.
  • Use seasoning of your choice.

Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; cook and stir until thickened, 6-8 minutes. , Remove from heat; cool slightly. Remove and discard bay leaf. Puree sauce using an immersion blender. Or, cool slightly and puree sauce in a blender; return to pan and heat through. Keep warm., Cut potatoes into 1-1/2-in. cubes; soak in cold water for 30 minutes. Drain potatoes; pat dry with paper towels. In an electric skillet or deep-fat fryer, heat oil to 250°. Fry potatoes until tender, 8-10 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon; drain on paper towels and cool completely., Increase heat of oil to 375°. Fry potatoes again until crisp and golden brown, 3-4 minutes, turning frequently.
