HOW TO MAKE THE BEST MIMOSA - INSPIRED TASTE

How to Make the Best Mimosa - Inspired Taste image

Mimosas are perfect for brunch, birthdays, holidays, and weddings. For the best mimosa, use a dry sparkling wine, not sweet. We usually will spend $12 to $15 on the sparkling wine we add to our mimosas. Your best bet is to look for “Cava,” which comes from Spain, or an American sparkling wine that’s around $15. A dry Prosecco is a great option, too.

Provided by Adam and Joanne Gallagher

DUCK A L'ORANGE RECIPE | FOOD NETWORK
Traditional recipes for Duck a l'Orange call for bitter Seville oranges to provide the right note of dissonance to match the recipe's sweetness. When I can't find Seville oranges, I look for kumquats; if I can't find kumquats, I use a regular juicing orange. Grand Marnier also adds a hint of bitter orange. Making Duck a l'Orange is a useful project because once you can understand how it's made, you can improvise virtually any French duck sauce using the same method.

EASY LEMON DROP MARTINI COCKTAIL - INSPIRED TASTE
There are three things to keep in mind when making lemon drop martinis at home. Fresh lemon juice is best, use a quality vodka, and serve the martini very cold. A few of our favorite mid-priced vodka brands are Kettle One, Stolichnaya (Stoli), and Tito’s. If you plan to make the lemon sugar, it is best to remove the zest from the lemon before juicing them for the martini. Then when you need to moisten the glass so that the sugar sticks, use the leftover lemon halves after juicing.

MARGARITAS ON THE ROCKS RECIPE | ALLRECIPES
Rather than using Grand Marnier (which, at $43 a bottle at my liquor store, is too $$$ for my blood), I substituted Gran Gala, an Italian import was half the price. The important thing is finding an orange liqueur made with brandy, and this one fit the bill perfectly. Cointreau would work as well, but costs almost as much as Grand Marnier.
