12 Days of Christmas Detox Guide
Over the forthcoming festive season, it is more than likely that you going to be borrowing an awful lot from your ‘health bank account’ with a taxing toxic overload and lack of exercise.
A colleague of mine, Maria Jevtic (author of ‘DIY Health Guide’) says that our body is just like a bank account, and the way to stay in credit is to put more in than you take out! So on that basis, we have put together the Twelve Days of Christmas Detox Guide so that you can get your body into shape for what is to come! Get started now…
12 Days of Christmas Detox Guide — build credits for your health bank account!
Day One — Too much sugar does not make you feel sweet — Save the occasional sugary and starchy treats for the party and perhaps on Sundays with your family. What you save now won’t have to come of later. Remember, sugar reduces the efficiency of the immune system, which is not some thing you want to happen on Christmas Day!
Day Two -ban the booze—stop drinking alcohol now on a daily basis to build up mineral and vitamin reserves. Even then, it is a good idea to follow every alcoholic drink with an equally large glass of Water. Your body will thank you for it later.
Day Three – gym will fix it for you — It is important to keep up your exercise routine even in the colder and rainier weather. This will do wonders for your stress levels, improving your mood, self-image and general well-being. You will also be paying in bonus points for a faster metabolism, lower blood sugar and improved cholesterol scores. So get moving now.
Day Four • hibernate for happiness – Sleep more now! The darker months naturally make us more inclined to turn in early. Use this wisely and build up your sleep credit now. Every hour of sleep before midnight brings immense anti-aging benefits.
Day Five – destroy the bugs – Increase your Vitamin D3 intake. Vitamin D is needed to fight infections and inflammation anywhere in your body, so start taking a supplement now (www.nutrigold.co.uk, discount code NB111)
Day Six • hydrate to feel great – Our bodies are around 70% water, and having enough is a prerequisite of staying healthy. Coffee, tea, alcohol and fizzy drinks are all dehydrating. Take a dive into lots of water to make a real splash at Christmas.
Day Seven – share the fresh air – It might be colder outside, but it is still vital to get out in the fresh air. The air that we breathe indoors is not as fresh as we need it to be. Start to refresh your health bank by getting outside, breathe deeply and rid some impurities in your body.
Day Eight • a sweet alternative — If you feel like something sweet, chose some lovely satsumas or fresh grapes. Keep your body in credit by building up vitamins and antioxidants and leave the sweet treats for Christmas.
Day Nine – cut down the coffee – stimulants such as tea and coffee rob us of minerals and vitamins and kid us into feeling ‘awake’. Don’t burn out too soon. Cut out the stimulants and listen to your body to begin Christmas well-rested and sparkling.
Day Ten — slow down you move too fast – Avoid racing around as much as you do – spend more quality time at home with your loved ones, unwind and switch the brain off. Your health bank will be refreshed and reenergized, and try to spend more time at home.
Day Eleven • switch off — Give your eyes and nervous system a rest and reduce the release of cortisol (a stress hormone). Switch off your TV and computer, get off Facebook and Twitter, and make a change to your daily routine. Pick up a real book instead!
Day Twelve • supplement your smile — build up your immunity and detoxification systems now to be in credit for those taxing holidays. Take some good quality supplements to ensure your body makes up for any deficiencies that may have built up over the past few months.
Vitamin B, Magnesium, Zinc, Omega 3, and Vitamin D are essential credits to have in your health bank
HAPPY HEALTHY FESTIVE SEASON!
