Save money on baking supplies
I don’t know about you, but I love to bake a lot during the holidays (and all year long), and that means I need lots of baking supplies. But since I don’t like to pay full price for anything, I take advantage of coupons, especially at a time like this when I can stock up on enough baking supplies to last the whole year.
Between November and December, you’ll find coupon inserts — that don’t expire until far into January — packed with savings for baking supplies such as oil, salt, sugars, extracts, baking powder, spices, cornstarch, yeast, chocolate morsels, parchment paper, tinfoil and many others.
“This is definitely the time of year to stock up on baking supplies because not only are there new baking and cooking coupons every Sunday, but stores are running sales and promotions that really bring down the prices when you work them with the coupons,” says Stephanie Nelson, founder of CouponMom.com. Here’s how to save money on enough baking supplies to last the whole year:
1. Clip as many coupons as you can, preferably at least two of each, from your Sunday newspaper coupon inserts. Look for more coupons online and also in-store from your favorite grocery store.
2. Look for sale prices, bogos (buy-one-get-one-free), or special promotions such as or 10 for $10 at your favorite grocery stores each week.
3. Find a sale on items that you have coupons for and match them up, preferably more than one at a time, so you can purchase several of each item, enough to last until next year’s holiday baking coupons appear, around November.
Priceless: Help your favorite couponer save money and stay organized with an inexpensive new coupon binder this holiday.
