Party Cheese Ball
Makes: 3 balls
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 (8 ounce) package sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 tablespoon chopped pimiento
1 tablespoon chopped green pepper
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Dash of red pepper
Dash of salt
Finely chopped walnuts
Chopped fresh parsley
Paprika
Combine cream cheese and cheddar cheese, blending well. Stir in the next 7 ingredients. Shape into 3 balls. Roll 1 in chopped walnuts, 1 in chopped parsley, and 1 in paprika. Chill. Serve at room temperature.
Orange Cheese Ball
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
1/2 stick butter
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
1 orange rind, grated
1 1/2 tablespoons orange juice
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup chopped pecans
Grate rind of orange. Reserve 1 1/2 teaspoons of the rind for the cheese ball mix, saving the remainder for rolling the ball. Mix cream cheese, butter, sugar, rind, juice and vanilla; shape into ball and chill until firm enough to handle and roll. Roll ball in remaining orange rind and chopped pecans. Serve with ginger snaps, other crackers or cookies.
Ginger Cream Cheese Ball
1 (8 ounce) box pitted dates
6 to 8 candied ginger bits
1/2 cup pecans or walnuts
2 (8 ounce) packages softened cream cheese
Flaked coconut
Chop dates, ginger and nuts in food processor. Add cheese and blend. Chill two hours and shape into a large ball or two smaller ones. Cover with flaked coconut. Serve with gingersnaps.
