Wine Authority and Publisher Jancis Robinson Taps Wine Blogger for Content Expansion
LONDON–(BUSINESSWIRE)–
Robinson Adds Vinography’s Alder Yarrow at JancisRobinson.com
Jancis Robinson announced today that wine blogger Alder Yarrow of
Vinography.com will join JancisRobinson.com
as a columnist, reporting on the American wine scene. The choice of
Yarrow to help expand Robinson’s coverage of the American wine culture
reflects the vibrancy of the wine blogging world, her appreciation of
the growing universe of online wine voices and Yarrow’s impressive body
of work and unique insights on American wine.
Yarrow’s “Alder on America” column will debut at JancisRobinson.com on
Wednesday, October 19 when he explores the impact of Robert Parker’s
retreat from reviewing California wine and the appointment of Antonio
Galloni as the Wine Advocate’s new California correspondent.
Alder’s first column will be available free at JancisRobinson.com.
Subsequent columns will be for subscribers to Robinson’s website.
“Alder represents the best of the wine blogosphere,” said Robinson. “His
writing at Vinography.com is refreshing, thoughtful, objective and
literate, qualities that have been justly rewarded by a large readership
and six Wine Blog Awards.”
JancisRobinson.com was founded in 2000 with a subscription element, Purple
pages, added in 2001. One of the few wine writers with a worldwide
reputation, Robinson saw her website honored with the first-ever “Wine
Website of the Year” award at the Louis Roederer Wine Writers Awards in
2010 and has members in 100 countries. JancisRobinson.com is updated
daily, includes 60,000 wine reviews, and provides exclusive online
access to the maps from The World Atlas of Wine and to the entire
content of the Oxford Companion to Wine.
Yarrow began publishing his blog, Vinography, in 2004. Today, Vinography
remains among the best read wine blogs and Yarrow has developed a
reputation as an outstanding writer and commentator on wine and the
business of wine.
“It’s an honor to write for one of the world’s most successful online
wine publishing ventures and for Jancis, whom I deeply admire,” said
Yarrow. “I think it’s also significant that Jancis looked to the
blogosphere, as it gives important credibility not just to my work but
to the writing that is being undertaken by wine bloggers everywhere.”
