Prep Time 5 minutes

Cook Time 25 minutes

Yield 7

Number Of Ingredients 18

1 lb linguine noodles
2 Tbsp olive oil, divided
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbsp fresh grated ginger
⅔ cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/2-3/4 cup hot water
1 Tbsp rice vinegar
1 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
1 Tbsp sriracha
1 Tbsp maple syrup
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
2 tsp chili garlic sauce
1 lb large, raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 bell peppers, thinly sliced then halved
1/4 cup chopped peanuts, for serving
1/2 cup sliced green onions, for serving
1/2 cup chopped cilantro, for serving

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil over high heat. Add linguine and cook for 7-9 minutes or according to package directions, until al dente. Drain and rinse with running water; set aside.
  • Meanwhile, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a small sauce pan over medium-low heat. Once hot, add the garlic and ginger; cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low; add peanut butter, soy sauce, 1/2 cup water, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sriracha, syrup, red pepper flakes, and chili garlic sauce; stir and bring to a gentle simmer. Add more water to thin, as needed or desired. Once hot and well-combined, turn off heat and set aside.
  • When linguine is done cooking, return pot to medium-high heat, adding the remaining olive oil. Once hot, add the bell pepper and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the shrimp to the pot and cook for 4-5 minutes or until pink and cooked through and peppers are tender.
  • Add linguine to the pot, along with the peanut sauce; toss to coat and heat through for 1-2 minutes.
  • Serve topped with peanuts, green onion, and cilantro.

SPICY PEANUT NOODLES RECIPE | FOOD NETWORK KITCHEN | FOOD N…

Spicy Peanut Noodles Recipe | Food Network Kitchen | Food N… image

Whip up this quick, versatile peanut sauce and pair it with your favorite noodles (rice noodles, yakisoba, egg noodles, spaghetti--whatever you have on hand) for a satisfying bowl that is ready in just 15 minutes. Inspired by Chinese sesame noodles, this recipe relies on peanut butter instead of Chinese sesame paste (zhī ma jiàng) for a nutty, savory flavor, though feel free to sub in sesame paste (or use a combination of both) if you have it at home. The dish is easy to adapt: Add more chili crisp or ginger for a bolder version, a little more sugar for a sweeter sauce or a bit of water to thin it out.

Cook Time 15 minutes

Yield 4 to 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

Two 10-ounce packages fresh ramen noodles
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
3 tablespoons chili crisp, plus more if desired
2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon grated ginger
Chopped scallions and honey-roasted peanuts, for garnish

Steps:

  • Cook the noodles according to the package instructions.
  • Meanwhile, combine the peanut butter, chili crisp, sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar and ginger in a large bowl and whisk to combine. (The sauce might look curdled, but keep whisking until smooth.)
  • Drain the noodles, add them to the bowl with the sauce and toss until the noodles are nicely coated. Garnish with chopped scallions and peanuts. Add additional chili crisp if you prefer more spice.

ROASTED CHICKEN THIGHS WITH PEANUT BUTTER ... - NYT COOKING
Peanut butter is the surprise guest in this spicy-sweet barbecue sauce, which cooks up in just 10 minutes. This versatile sauce, which adds nutty richness and depth, keeps for 2 weeks in the fridge and also freezes well. You'll have quite a bit: This recipe yields 2 cups of sauce. It's great to have on hand, doing double-duty as a sauce or a fantastic marinade for chicken or baby back ribs. (If allergies are a concern, substitute in almond butter for the peanut butter.) Serve with sautéed green beans, roasted broccoli or coleslaw.

  • In a large bowl, combine chicken, oil and 1/4 cup of the barbecue sauce and season with salt. Toss to evenly coat and arrange on the rack. Roast, using a brush to baste with the remaining 1/2 cup sauce every 10 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and deep golden in color, about 30 minutes. Serve with the leftover sauce on the side, or store sauce in the refrigerator for later use.
